GISI hosted the first annual Regional Leadership Economic and Community Investment Forum at the Independence Visitors Center in Philadelphia. Forty-Four elected Mayors, appointed Administrators and Business leaders attended this working forum on economic partnership and collaboration.

GISI proposes the "Harbortown" Concept to the Wilmington Housing Authority, partnering GISI and the WHA on an innovative approach to housing development and neighborhood stabilization via Export and Trade led economic and community development.

GISI, P4P and the U.S. Export Assistance Center host the first of a kind, "Bridging Exports and Underserved Communities Forum, at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. This forum linked Federal and State government, distressed city leaders, businesses and financing institutions, educating and matching these stakholders together in the promotion of regional export and trade led economic development.
GISI is announced at the White House during the Strong Cities Initiative (SC2) conveying of the SC2 Cities Economic Directors Roundtable. It was hosted by the White House and chaired by Whitney White.
MOVING BEYOND DISCUSSION
The City of Salem, NJ retains GISI to serve as an advisor on the Port of Salem's infrastructure expansion and the development of the City policies centered on trade led economic development. Salem, NJ is a U.S. Port of Entry, as well as, home to Free Trade Zone #142.

GISI'S INITIATIVE TO HAVE PENNSYLVANIA RECOGNIZE A STATE HARBOR IN PHILADELPHIA
GISI's Pennsylvania State Harbor concept combines the use of industrial (trade, manufacturing and port activities), commercial (store fronts) and tourist components with a portion of the "Pennsylvania State Harbor" embracing an 18th century harbor look and theme, essentially doubling the size of Philadelphia's Historic tourist area.
